It's obvious that total permanence for all files is nonsense. But Brad also sketched a system for how to decide which files should be thrown away first (and which not). And THAT's a question that Freenet has to solve one way or another. So I think he deserves a little more than just a sarcastic response. This list would benefit from a little less frosty discussion style anyway... :-/ -Stefan _______________________________________________ Devl mailing list Devl at freenetproject.org http://lists.freenetproject.org/mailman/listinfo/devl >From - Tue Apr 17 01:42:25 2001 Return-Path: <devl-admin at freenetproject.org> Received: from hawk.freenetproject.org (postfix@[4.18.42.11]) by funky.danky.com (8.9.3/8.8.7) with ESMTP id UAA06100 for <danello at danky.com>; Mon, 16 Apr 2001 20:26:37 -0400 Received: from hawk.freenetproject.org (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by hawk.freenetproject.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 630D15813C; Mon, 16 Apr 2001 17:08:06 -0700 (PDT) Delivered-To: devl at freenetproject.org Received: from localhost.localdomain (cb862134-a.mdsn1.wi.home.com [24.183.4.102]) by hawk.freenetproject.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id A15905801D for <devl at freenetproject.org>; Mon, 16 Apr 2001 17:07:27 -0700 (PDT) Received: (from owen at localhost) by localhost.localdomain (8.11.2/8.11.2) id f3H00Bw06205; Mon, 16 Apr 2001 19:00:11 -0500 X-Authentication-Warning: localhost.localdomain: owen set sender to ywwg at usa.net using -f Subject: Re: [freenet-devl] Permanance is necessary.
