I think part of the Freedom of Speech is about people having the right to make their own decisions about what content they deem appropriate for display. I would personally consider it unfortunate if the Freegle maintainer were to change the design of his site based on someone else's complaint that his search results were offensive. > Freedom of Speech *is* about not preventing people from consuming > information that they *do* want to consume. Suppose I were to make a public request that any content that was critical of human rights violations in China be hidden away in a similar fashion? It would be a suggestion made in the best interest of the people, of course. m. _______________________________________________ Devl mailing list Devl at freenetproject.org http://lists.freenetproject.org/mailman/listinfo/devl >From - Wed Apr 18 19:35:31 2001 Return-Path: <devl-admin at freenetproject.org> Received: from hawk.freenetproject.org (postfix@[4.18.42.11]) by funky.danky.com (8.9.3/8.8.7) with ESMTP id JAA17127 for <danello at danky.com>; Wed, 18 Apr 2001 09:27:45 -0400 Received: from hawk.freenetproject.org (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by hawk.freenetproject.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 49E965801F; Wed, 18 Apr 2001 06:09:07 -0700 (PDT) Delivered-To: devl at freenetproject.org Received: from mail1.telia.com (t1o70p12.telia.com [62.20.148.12]) by hawk.freenetproject.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 1EECA57D9E for <devl at freenetproject.org>; Wed, 18 Apr 2001 06:08:50 -0700 (PDT)
