nimroy on IIP said the Freenet tray app didn't work under Windows 95 -- indeed, the tray app calls MsgWaitForMultipleObjectsEx, which has the following compatibility (according to MSDN):
Windows NT: Requires version 4.0 or later. Windows: Requires Windows 98 or later. Windows CE: Requires version 2.0 or later. So, Microsoft didn't introduce this call until sometime in 1996 (before NT4 but after 95) and didn't deem it important enough to build into CE 1.0 (which, though a flop, is a good indicator).
