I don't know which one of us -- me or David -- you're addressing, but
that's absolutely totally standard for GPL'd software. Check the last
section of the GPL ("How to Apply These Terms to Your New Programs")
to see where that text comes from.
I don't think there's a Free Software license where explicit
repudiation of warranty isn't part of the license.
