0.50 should go out AFTER we have a release in the 0.4 series that actually works. So if/when the datastore is working fixed, put out another 0.4 version, and if after a few weeks it is working smoothly and the 0.4 network is growing without trouble, THEN simply relable it as 0.5 and jump on the presses.
