Well, there are a number of things -
 - Firstly, the user shouldn't be presented with information they aren't
   likely to understand, although they should be able to get to it if 
   they really want it
 - The user shouldn't be asked questions that they probably won't know
   how to answer correctly

The whole splitfile "hiding" thing is basically about trying to do 
things as close to the way the browser authors intended within the 
constraints that we have.
