From kaffe.org: "Kaffe mostly complies with JDK 1.1, except for a few missing parts. Parts of it are already JDK 1.2 (Java 2) compatible." Why not use these parts if they are there. Let's not stick to 1.1 as system requirement in general, but rather to what kaffe supports then. (That would be 1.2 for all proprietary JREs). I dunno how large these 'parts' are though, maybe it is next to nothing.
