The metadata (redirects) are actually inserted properly.  Thing is,
you can't just have the gatewayhint for fetching the CHK, there's
a chicken and egg problem.  CHK is a hash of the content, no?  You
need the content to generate the CHK, which is exactly what you 
don't have when you're initially creating a request with a gateway
hint.

At any rate, the code as it stands works and thus is a good 
starting point.  I'm not attached to the implementation, it's the 
functionality I want.  By all means, if you've got CVS access, 
integrate it and experiment with it.  If you can make it function better, do!!!
