Ah.. the XWiki Explorer tree is a bit heavy and doesn't behave nicely when you have lots of pages ( http://jira.xwiki.org/jira/browse/XWIKI-5484 ). Additionally, it retrieves the list of spaces and pages using REST and there have been some issues with access rights in multiwiki ( http://jira.xwiki.org/jira/browse/XWIKI-5542 ).
