I am not very experienced in the working of of Google Summer of Code.

As far as I know, we are now in a period where you need to prove your skills.
- please answer the little questionnaire
- please try a checkout of the solr component that Fabio started and see if you 
can enhance it a little. The simplest is to do a pull request, I think; we want 
to see it.
