Actually your proposal goes beyond changing that page. It also touches a lot of
what’s on http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/AdminGuide/Installation.

Thanks for working on this! :)

Some comments/questions:

* You haven’t explained the wording “Local Installation” but I happen to have
discussed it with you and AFAIR the goal is to also offer Cloud-based solutions
too (myxwiki.org, companies offering cloud instances, etc). So I guess the idea
is to have “Local Installation” and “Cloud-based Installation”? There are also
other terminologies used such as “On-premises”, “SAAS”. What is best?

* You’re missing several packagings in the Local Installation: the WAR
packaging, the Debian packaging, the yaourt one, etc. Actually the 3 you’ve
listed are not about Local installation, they’re about providing a HSQLDB/Jetty
setup (This is missing from the description you’ve used, only the third one
mentions it when they’re all about HSQLDB/Jetty - Also it should be mentioned
that they should be used for trials/tests and not for production).

* Some suggestion for the various packaging names:
** “Generic Graphical Installer”. For all OSes. Note that this is NOT reserved
for non-windows OSes, as mentioned.
** “Windows Graphical Installer”. Reserved for Windows.
** “Generic ZIP Installer”. For all OSes.

* I see there’s a link on “XWiki version”. Where does that lead to?

* Where would you put the other links that are on
http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/AdminGuide/Installation, namely:
** the tutorials
** the troubleshooting

Thanks!
