UNICEF TERMS OF REFERENCE National Professional and General Service Post POST TITLE: Consultant Nutrition POST LEVEL: SECTION: Health and Nutrition DUTY STATION: Meulaboh 1. ORGANIZATIONAL SETTING a) REPORTS TO: Health and Nutrition Coordinator, Meulaboh 2. PURPOSE OF THE POST (Statement of overall post accountability.) This position is to assist the Meulaboh health and nutrition team to carry out the support to the community therapeutic care project in three districts of Aceh Selatan, Nagan Raya and Simuelue and to assist in the monitoring of the breast feeding activities. 3. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Percentage 10% 1. To assist the APO in the planning and implementation of the training for the CTC activities and breast feeding counseling training. Monitoring cascade training of the districts as required. 40% 2. To support the DHO and NGO teams in supervising the activities of CTC in the communities. Ensuring that the puskesmas staff are implementing the correct protocols recording all activities correctly, to provide necessary support and training to the staff to ensure the programme is carried out according to protocol. 30% 3. To support the DHO and APO in monitoring the activities of the breast feeding counselor trainers and the breast feeding counselors. Documenting their activities and providing technical assistance as required. 10% 4. To keep a data base of the data of all the activities and achievements of the programme. This should include collection of data from DHOs and NGOs. Once complete these should be shared with the respective NGOs. 10%5. To organise and monitor all the supplies that have been delivered to the DHO and arrange the supply of additional activities.
4. WORKING CONDITIONS (Do the duties of this post involve frequent travelling or unusual conditions or is it an office-based post?) The person is expected to spend 50% of the contract on mission. 5. QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES required to perform the duties of the post: Medical or nutrition background and understanding Experience of organizing and implementing health activities a) EDUCATION (Indicate the level of formal education and/or training and field of specialization required.) Medical or nutrition qualification b) WORK EXPERIENCE (Indicate the length and type of practical experience required at the national and international levels.) Experience of working in difficult working environments Experience of coordinating with NGOs c) LANGUAGES (Indicate the languages requirements.) Fluency (oral and written) in English and Bahasa Indonesia is required.
