Hi !
I just found something indirectly interesting for all DyDNS users : Mitchell
Broome wrote some patches to Bind-8.1.2 to allow it to get it's zone
informations through a MySQL server ( http://bind.linuxos.net/ )
An interesting idea would be to patch dhcpd to update the MySQL database
(and tell it to bind) so that you would :
- have automatic DNS updates
- be able to make any sql query on the zone (would then be easy to track
used / free adresses, make statistics, ...)
Is someone interested in trying to develop that idea ?
