        I converted half of my network to go from static to dynamic and have
seen none of the behavior you describe.  I just deleted everything from
TCP/IP except the hostname and had DHCP send all the rest of the info. 
To do that, I simply set it to obtain IP automatically.  Try removing
TCP/IP, restart, then reinstall it.  For the record, I've done that with
pl6, pl8, and pl18, not DCHP-1.  All seem fine.  The version of 95 I'm
using is the OSR 1 and 2 versions, 2 both with and without USB support.

        For the record, I've had a DHCP 2.0b1 server running for a month
straight now, and no signs of problems.  Many thanks to everyone who
helped with the DHCP 2.0 and my wierd problems, it's made my life much
easier.
