I don't see anything in David's message that suggests he needs to use
the shared-network statement, although I don't see anything that
suggests that he doesn't either, so I'm not sure that your suggestion
will be helpful to him.
David, don't use the shared-network statement unless you are running
more than one IP subnet on the same wire. If you use it
inappropriately, it will cause you endless grief.
