The EPSON Syuls Color 800 and/or 850 have a builtin 10BaseT port,
and are supposed to work with DHCP. This is a nice goal for an
inexpensive color printer, hence these devices are getting fairly
popular/common.
Problem is that these things constantly get NAK'd and try to
reacquire. This seems to cut across a number of versions of
the ISC DHCPD server (I've seen it stay like this on 2.0b1pl18
but right now we rolled back to 2.0b1pl6, same behavior) and
I think it happens on all of these EPSONS.
So... here's the REQUEST from the client,
and the NAK from the server, and the lease in
the database for reference. Can anyone tell
off the top of their heads if this is a broken
client or a server oddity?
Almost seems like the server gives it a lease, records it
in the database, but then NAK's after the fact. For example,
here is the lease, but I don't see the OFFER anytime today
or yesterday, so I assume this is a continuing lease. That is,
the OFFER/REQUEST works at some point, but then for hundreds of
times thereafter it goes OFFER/NAK. Time period seems like
every 1 1/2 minutes.
We can do a static here, but it would be nice to figure out what
is happening with all these requests and naks.
