Well, I set up my configuration, cranked up the dhcp server daemon, and
watched my machine go to its knees.  I was setting up to allocate about
a half million addresses, and didn't notice that the server is
pre-allocating memory for them.  It needed about seventy-six meg or so
just for lease space allocations.

Having been on the list for several days now, I suppose that it's time
to make a totally unreasonable suggestion.  Have you considered allowing
for a VERY sparsely populated lease space?

The initial solution is obviously to allocate much smaller address
ranges, which I will do.  But it would be nice to just allocate what
I want to allow for future growth, and then buy memory as needed.
