Would specifying a small range in the large subnet do the trick.
That way you still have the actual network block and gateway, but only a
small range of available leases. You can add more ranges as necessary.
I assume that the memory management is smart enough to accomodate this and
only require the memory necessary for the range and not the entire subnet.
