Dear All,
Sorry to trouble you all for another simple
question!
I got both the ISC dhcp-2 server and dhcrelay
working on different subnets, now I need to
know (I have scanned through the rfcxxx.txt
in /doc and some of the man page on server):
* can I assign a prefix to the ip number as
the hostname within a range of addresses
such as for the range of xxx.xxx.xxx.100
to xxx.xxx.xxx.200, so that the hostname
would be dhcp100, ... , dhcp200
* I remember somewhere that I could also
include other info (such as default Web
server URL) as part of the dhcp request,
am I right? If is yes, how do I do that?
Better yet, is there a Web site lists
some of the dhcpd.conf samples?
* is there any utility could help me monitor
or report what addresses have been requested
or used/consumed? Or, is there any log file
to show the status of dhcp transactions
(other than the /etc/dhcpd.leases)?
Again, any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
--Wo Chang
