I'm involved in the design of an interWAN Packet Transport product. We're
investigating the use of DHCP for configuring our devices.
This card has 6 ports therefore 6 IP addresses. Can you tell me
which of the following 2 senarios DHCP allows.

1) 6 clients, one per IP interface <-----> one device, 6 clients.

If this is the case how does the server handle receipt of 6
DHCPDISCOVERs with the same Mac address (one from each client) ?

2) 1 client

If this is the case how does the client requests 6 IP addresses from
the server( same server most likely) ?

Could you also provide us some help in choosing perhaps a reliable DHCP
software...

Thanks in advance for your help,
Abdul
