I answered your other questions on the dhcp-client mailing list, so I
won't repeat myself here, but I forgot to answer this one. For
reliable DHCP software, you should definitely choose the ISC DHCP
server and client. :') Seriously, you can get support contracts
from the ISC, and the evidence suggests that the code is pretty solid
- although there are a lot of users and people do find bugs, most
people are able to just set it up and leave it running unattended
without any trouble at all.
The software is at ftp://ftp.isc.org/isc/dhcp. For your application,
you probably want version 3. Be sure the read the license on it if
you're going to redistribute - you either have to include
documentation and give us credit in your startup message, or arrange
with us for a license that allows you not to do that.
