I am trying to get the dhcp server version dhcp-3.0b1pl13 working on
a Solaris 7 box. I have downloaded the latest version of Bind, version
8.2.3-T5B, and compiled the dhcp server with the --with-nsupdate
option. I have DNS running on my system, I have dhcp working... I just
cannot figure out why it appears there is no update attempt being made
by the DHCP server. The following is a sniipit of the top of my
dhcpd.conf file:
option domain-name "agere.com";
max-lease-time 604800;
default-lease-time 604800;
subnet 135.149.94.0 netmask 255.255.254.0 {
option domain-name-servers 135.149.95.200;
option netbios-name-servers 135.149.95.200;
ddns-domainname "agere.com";
ddns-rev-domainname "in-addr.arpa";
range dynamic-bootp 135.149.95.1 135.149.95.254;
option routers 135.149.94.2;
}
I have my named.conf file set up to allow updates. Is there somthing I
am missing. What I am seeing now, is that a new system gets added to
the network, get its IP, get an entry added to the dhcpd.leases file,
but DNS does not get updated.
Am I missing something? Help would greatly be appreciated.
