Yeah, /Design Patterns/ is *not* UML, but Fowler's own modelling
language.  The definitive UML is in Booch, Jacobson, and Rumbaugh: /The
Unified Modelling Language User Guide/.  A shorter but still good
version is Fowler's /UML Distilled/.
