Autosave of diagram?

Hi,
Are there any plans of introducing an autosave feature of
diagrams? It would be useful to have dia save the diagram
once every n changes to the diagram, or once every m
minutes. Optionally, it could either be saved to a backup
file (a la emacs) or to the original file.
