If you get a recent version of dia, you should be able to compile dia.
Older versions relied on dlopen style dynamic linking, which is not
available on HPUX. Since 0.80, dia uses the gmodule abstraction layer, so
should work with HPUX's dynamic linking interfaces. If it doesn't, please
tell us how the build broke -- either in a message to the list or as a bug
report on bugs.gnome.org.

As for pluggable import/export filters, I have done the code for pluggable
export filters, and the new CGM export filter is the first one using it.
I have not done the import filter interface yet, as dia can only read its
own format. I will add a pluggable loader interface in the future though.

James.
