hi claude -

      actually, you don't need to use any html editor at all to create a
link.
you can copy and paste the html from any other link -- or even better,
memorize the syntax and type it as you go whenever you need it.

        when a youngster taught me html back in 1994, she helpfully
explained the
full meaning of what this syntax stands for.  that helped me to remember it.

<a href = "http://whereyourelinkingto.com";>text you're linking from</a>

the above html reads like this in english: "anchor hypertext reference
equals quote http://www.whereyourelinkingfrom.com quote greater-than-sign
-- text you're linking from -- end anchor."
