I use the commericial product, Text Aloud MP3 to convert text that I can cut and paste into MP3 files. It sure saves on paper for those articles I should read but don't need to waste trees with.
Also, I had an open source prototype built for webcasting public meeting audio with webcam images for the UK Local E-democracy National Project. Would anyone like to help us test it more widely?
