A question for everyone: In any given region there may be multiple "local access places" (to borrow a phrase) such as CTCs where people access technology and receive training or engage in community technology programs.
Each such local access place has the challenge of disseminating their offerings in the region. Have any tools/websites been developed that can facilitate aggregation of regional service offerings from multiple organizations/sites that would not impose an excessive burden to manage/update? If none have been deployed, are any under development? If none are under development, are there any parties out there who can help conceptualize and design such a tool that regional entities could deploy? (metro-wide or state-wide networks especially) I am imagining a tool/website that anyone in a region would use as a reference site to find services or training or classes from a range of providers (My bias is NPO sector). We can form a working group perhaps on DDN site or a wiki (preferred (if someone is willing to offer space)) for anyone interested in advancing this concept. I view this as a social source effort (social source is a strategic development of open source tools).
