About us:
Formed in 2001 by a group of community members, Capitol Hill Computer Corner’s mission is to foster academic and career development through technology skills training for youth and adults in the community. Our vision is to create a community of active and skilled technology users who pursue post-secondary education and careers with upward mobility, make positive decisions, and reach their career potential.

To achieve this we offer innovative programs with tangible outcomes for youth and adults and establish partnerships with companies, foundations, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and local schools to leverage community and professional resources. Some of our key supporters include Capital One, Microsoft, Verizon, Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation, Eugene and Agnes Meyer Foundation, Capitol Hill Community Foundation, DC Public Schools and Children and Youth Investment Trust Corporation.

In both 2004 and 2005, Capitol Hill Computer Corner was listed in the Catalogue for Philanthropy - a publication of the Harmon Family Foundation which highlights the top 100 nonprofits in DC. Our summer program was highlighted this past April in the Washington Post article “In Southeast, a Summer Program That Provides Plenty of ‘Action!‘”. Recent awards also include Best in Class, Verizon (2005), and Unlimited Potential, Microsoft (2004, 2005).

Responsibilities:
The primary areas of responsibility of the Executive Director include:
Fundraising ($400,000+ annual target)
Development and implementation of strategic plans
Management of the Computer Corner's programs, finances, facilities, and staff
Partnership Development and Community Outreach
Effective Collaboration and ongoing communication with diverse group of stakeholders including Board of Directors, funders, partners, clients and staff.

Qualifications:
To be considered, candidates must have:
Passion, enthusiasm, flexibility, common sense, and uncommon commitment to our mission
Demonstrated experience in nonprofit management and governance
Demonstrated success in fundraising including researching, developing and preparing grant proposals Demonstrated success in delivering and assessing instruction to youth or adults Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders and collaborate across these groups to achieve desired outcomes.

Ideal candidates will also have a degree in Education, Nonprofit management, or another related field and knowledge of the application of technology to learning environments.

Compensation:
Salary $50,000 – $70,000 annually, dependent on experience
