I had one of those issues at work. One day when I came in to work it was suddenly not possible to SSH into a remote machine. It worked the day before. Turns out the ntpd daemon was not running on the remote machine (for some reason) and we're using Kerberos with SSH, that means if the clocks are too much out of sync it will not be able to login. That was a ... fun, debugging experience.
