Same for me, I just bought it and pressed play on Steam and it runs flawlessly. The game even remembered my save file from the demo so I started right in the room I ended up stuck in last time I played. Let's see if I can figure it out now!
I do think I changed a Steam setting in the past to enable the Windows compatibility layer on Linux, so if it's not working by default by now you may need to manually check that out @Dom Disc.
