It takes up a bit much vertical space. If you guys are going to
create a new logo based on the old one, you probably should clear
it with the original creator. On his website he has give us use
rights for non-commercial use, but not rights to create
derivative works...
Not being able to use it on commercial items (like t-shirts) is a
bit restrictive, IMO.
