Recap on my set-up..

WinXP -> Rigblaster Pro -> FT-7800R -> A Handi Talkie..

All of the pieces above, except for the handi talkie, are brand new
last week. The PC is 2.8Ghz P4, 512M. The mike jumpers are wired per
the sheet of paper included with the special cable.

I'm using as a test platform the most current version of EchoLink.

If I run echolink in single user mode, with the classic mike in and
headphones, the audio round trip is fine.

If I run the software in single user mode, I put headphones in the
headphone jack on the PC and I select "Line" In as the recording
source and when connected to the echotest server the radio audio
routes through the Rigblaster unit and is echoed back very clear.

If I switch it to SysOp mode, remove the headphones, the system
messages relating to connect and disconnect messages get transmitted
via the FT-7800R and are very clear. sent through the mike in of the
radio are fine.. I was able to use this config to listen to the
shuttle audio this afternoon.

So far so good..

Here is the part I can't figure out..

I dropped the connection to the conference server that was echoing the
shuttle audio and brought up the echotest server. When I transmit, the
audio isn't even recognizable.. It is low and distorted..

So at the point I can use the audio from the FT-7800R in single user
mode fine. I can listen to a listen only conference server. But I
can't use it as a real RF Link..

I would love any pointers that come to mind..

P.S. The "No Audio" problem went away when I unplugged the computer
speakers.

from the sound card. This can easily be checked by plugging a speaker
into the sound card at the same location you are plugging the audio
cable going to the Rig Blaster. If you can't get audio in the speaker
then the sound card audio out needs set up. Go to the audio controls
for the sound card and make sure you have the Wav and audio out turned
up. Also make sure these are not muted. If your computer has more than
one sound card make sure the correct one is selected in the software
you are running.
