Hello to Patrick, the author of MultiPSK      Now you made it very clear that  this  3.9 is not a simple real number  and that software version designators in general are elements of a "n" fold dimensional space. The size of this "n" can change from software to software. However the various usages for designating different versions of a software are more complex. Notice that very often the have more than one separator dot/point.
