If the ALE software can only key the transceiver via RTS, you could
build a one-transistor RTS-to-PTT interface for the transceiver
control serial port. This interface would be ignored with the rest
of your soundcard software (which does tx-rx switching via CI-V
commands), but would allow the ALE software to tx-rx switch without
your having to move cables around.
