Olivia is an automatic mode?
BTW: According to the FCC there are no
"Pactor freqs". Amateur Radio ops are asked
to work out band plans but to-date nothing has
been locked-in for Pactor-only and most Hams
would strongly resist any such effort as the
realm of digital modes is changing so quickly
that such would interfere with progress.
Other activities at the FCC suggest that so-
called automatic modes may soon be isolated
to tiny slivers of spectrum or eliminated
entirely due to the tidal wave of QRM complaints.
Automatic modes make sense for non-technical
marine and other specialty apps but not for
Amateur Radio operators. We know how to listen
for an open freq, how to send a CQ, and other
such skills.
Cell phones use an automatic mode. ;-)
