YOU DONT EVEN KNOW WHO SMIRK IS ????????? And YOU made the call on what part of the band we got to keep?????????
SIX METER INTERNATIONAL RADIO KLUB one of the oldest 6 meter groups with 8000 members My membership goes back to 1974 ......... I have been active in 6 since 1966 and have cards from that far back. (photo of station from mid 60's) http://www.qrz.com/wa4gch As for band use the only reason you are not recking havic is the band is closed right now because when it is open you will hear SSB to 50.5 and AM / PSK from 50.4 - 50.7 and FM above 51 .... we have a net here in tampabay on 52.020. Since 2003 I have worked over 1,000 stations and have over 400 QSL cards ..... some on FM SIMPLEX. And I run only 100 watts. Six is a large band however is is anything but dead and thoes who lissen right now are in for a big shock when it peaks out in about 5 years. They don't call it the magic band for nothing ...... Wide band has no reason to be on the 6 meter band the 222 mhz band will do it well and I have a number of years on that band back about 20 years ago with stacked 9 elm beams up 50 foot.
