My comment about the tax saving was a joke. They would just find another way to 
tax us anyway.
What got all of this started was my comment about deregulating the ham bands.
I don't even think the ARRL would want to get into policing the bands. It would 
be too costly to them.

  Channel 2 TVI was mainly caused by nearby 6 meter operation. That, along with 
a poor receiver front-end design and 21 Mhz IF didn't help when in a strong RF 
field of any transmitter.

  The 11 meter band was lost due to little activity and a big political push by 
certain manufactures to create a new market for their wares. It worked.
