As a summary of the responses, it seems than many use the TS-480SAT, I'll probably be buying another for the 6m season so that I can monitor 6m and work HF simultaneously. I'm lucky in that I have little noise, and haven't found NR1 to have much effect. Other NB / NR options have always degraded the signal. I have the 1.8kHz and 500Hz filters, I haven't had to use them in anger as the TS-480's dynamic range + Delta 44 have not suffered from overload, however an older SoundBlaster shows reciprocal mixing / IMD.
