J7 provides the FSK signal that controls mark/space selection, but 
does not include a PTT signal that will switch your 746 from RX to 
TX. Without a connection between the PK-232's PTT signal (from one of 
the radio ports) to your 746's SEND input, your 756 will not switch 
to TX unless you configure WinWarbler and Commander to perform this 
function.

I don't understand your assertion that "The CI-V cable won't key 
FSK"; if Commander sends your 746 a "transmit" command, your 746 
should start transmitting no matter what mode its in. To check this 
out, select RTTY in Commander's Main window to place your transceiver 
in FSK mode, and then click the PTT panel's TX button; does your 746 
start transmitting? If the right side of Commander's Main window 
displays the current memory bank rather than the PTT panel, click 
the "Filters & Devices" button to make the PTT panel and frequency-
dependent device readouts visible.
