Hello James,

All you have to do is look up the power ratings
for RTTY. Sub the words Digital Modes for the word RTTY.
With PSK adjust audio level just below the point ALC starts indicating
on meter. This will give you anywhere from 30 to 45 watts out.
As far as Duty Cycle of a QSO is usually around 50 percent, unless
you are long winded and the other station is short winded.

  For field day I will be responsible for digitial communications.  I have 
searched high and low, looked in both manuals for the FT-897D and have been 
unable to find any information on duty cycle.  

  Does anyone have any information that would help me determine the duty cycle
