 Grant, I have just a Sangean ATS-803A receiver, no rig interface, 
just 2 6 foot long stereo audio cables with the aforementioned 
isolation transformer in between, no ground connection between 
computer and rig (I did have one but found out that made the noise 
worse). I do have a ground connection on my preselector going to the 
rig (tried disconnecting it but it made no difference in the noise). 
I have a Sony AN-1 active antenna.
