Dan, The RSID (developed by Patrick Lindecker) is a short MFSK identifier that tells others which mode is being sent. All it takes is a simple mouse click; RSID is transmitted / received automatically.
It's available in HRD / DM780 (version 5) Fldigl and Multipsk. Let me know what software you're running and we'll help you get started. I hate to sound stupid, but here goes: What is all this RSID stuff? I've never heard of it until all these e-mails have been going back and forth..
