Windows device manager is showing all the com ports 1 > 12 are in use .. but i only have 3 usb to serial devices and 1 usb modem in the pc
using the port 'scanner' in HRD (press connect button) the window is showing me that devices no longer in the pc are using the ports .. by 'all ports display selecting only ports connected to pc .. then the 4 usb devices are shown ..... Q how do you remove the old devices from windows .. so at the com ports do not show as ''in use'' ?? I have found i can change the com port of the new usb/serial adaptor to one of the 'old' ports .. but then I have 2 ports with the same number .. is this ''ok'' ?? I need to allocate low com port numbers 1234 to old software Tnx - G ..
