The issue with the Nomic is the fact that you're using the computer sound card
and more computer resources. If you have a newer computer with a good sound
card, and you have decent processor speed and a decent amount of memory, then
the Nomic is every bit as good as the SignaLink and vice versa.

I've tried my Nomic with a new mid-range Dell Vostro laptop, with an older Dell
Latitude laptop (7 yrs old), and with a variety of new netbook computers such
as the Acer Aspire One.

There was no noticeable difference when using the Vostro. The SignaLink was
better with the Latitude than was the Nomic. I had serious problems with the
Nomic on the netbook computers until I upgraded them to 2Gbytes of memory (and
in one case swapped out the sound card). Once I made those changes, the
SignaLink and Nomic performed equally well.

As someone else mentioned, if you have a data jack on the rig, you're better
off connecting to that through a Plug&Play (or the SignaLink) than in using the
microphone and headset interface. If you don't have a data jack, then you'll
have to use the microphone and headset.
