Position is located here in Syracuse. Looking for a Candidate who is a generalist to support z/OS, z/VM, and OEM software installs in a large, fast paced, Parallel Sysplex environment. This person will support OS and OEM product installation, troubleshooting, tuning, and maintenance. Qualified candidates must work with little or no supervision in the day-to-day support and maintenance of z/OS and OEM environments. Systems expertise should include strong installation and maintenance (SMP/E) and excellent troubleshooting skills. Applicants should also possess knowledge of z/OS Data Sharing, Sysplex planning/analysis, hardware configuration, coupling facilities, ICF Catalogs, VSAM and IDCAMS. In addition, Systems expertise should include strong installation and maintenance (SES) and excellent troubleshooting skills. Applicants should also possess knowledge of Connect:Direct, DFSMS, Dirmaint, OSA, PROP, Syncsort, TCP/IP, VM/Backup, VM/Tape, VMUTIL (wakeup time file) and Performance Tool Kit. The applicant must have extensive knowledge of REXX to support a home grown infrastructure of a real CMS application. Knowledge of storage management (DF/SMS), WLM, CICS, IMS, DB2, VTAM, TCP/IP RACF as well as a background in Disaster Recovery planning and testing is a plus.
