Job Title : Oracle DBA / Unix Administrator Duration : 6+ months Rate : Open Work Location: Wood Dale, IL Overview: We are looking for an experienced IT leader to fill a dual production support role as an Oracle Production DBA and Unix (preferably AIX) Administrator to support customers and perform functions such as physical & logical database design, modeling, planning, installation, configuration, testing, scripting, performance tuning, monitoring, database backup and recovery. Responsibilities will include administration, problem solving, and analytical skills for an Oracle database and AIX/Unix system Responsibilities: * Please note that this is a Mid to Senior-level position. • Provide Oracle Data Administration and assist with Oracle database design for optimal performance, instance and database creation and database object creation • Optimize application system performance, create test environments, archive historic data, create the database structure and reconfigure the database instance • Provide IBM AIX Unix Administration and other Linux Administration duties, such as reset/restart to fix malfunctioning tasks or RF devices. Support 24 x 7 databases on the High Availability Unix System. • Physical & logical database design, modeling, planning, installation, configuration, testing, performance tuning, database backup and recovery • Repetitive DBA tasks including Daily System Health Check (CPU, DISK, Memory, RMAN Backup), SDN installation and refresh test environments. • Provide main coordination with service providers (such as IBM Hosting services and 3rd party vendors). • Develop integration and management reports, as well as operational and performance management analysis reports for management. • Business Application User Support. Track issue-resolution and statistical reporting. Responsive to system alerts. Required Skills: • Oracle database administration experience, Unix Administration, and SQL Server database (preferred) experience • Business Process Management skills - focus on continuous process improvement resulting in cost reduction • Exposure to Project Management methodologies including project delivery adhering to stringent time and budget estimates • Experienced in the development or support of the full system lifecycle • Demonstrated ability to communicate with functional and technical groups across business units • Strong problem-solving skills • Strong teamwork, high work ethics, positive attitude and energetic • Education Level: BA or BS Degree • Disaster Recovery and Tivoli exposure/knowledge is preferred. • Prefer open system programming development experience such as C+, Java, XML, .NET,VB.NET <http://vb.net/> and/or Crystal Report Certified, SQL certified If you fit the above requirements please reply with your resume.
