I have just come across this requirement with one of my client.
*Title* : *Java Tech Lead and Data Modeler*
*Location* : USA - NY - New York
*Experience Level* : 10+
Duration : 6 months
*Position Description* This opportunity is for a Java Tech Lead and Data
Modeler to play a key role in a challenging enterprise cross-functional
project involving IT Compliance Risk and Security
and Infrastructure groups.
This position is in the development team building client components of the
new <<major firm>> Application Inventory. The inventory will contain
reference data used to support operational and regulatory risk assessments
as well as other enterprise processes.
- The selected candidate would have two major roles – Technical Lead for
a team of Java developers and Data Modeler.
- The role calls for participating in requirements analysis, data
modeling, design and development of Java based webapps.
- Candidates must have solid senior level hands on and current Java
skills including experience leading Java developers as well as good database
skills specifically in modeling.
- The role requires interacting with users, data analysts and
developers. Good communication and leadership skills are essential.
*Skills Required*
- Strong Java development skills in the context of web applications,
especially server side and proven experience with distributed systems
- Solid, in depth understanding of database architecture, logical and
physical database design & modeling and SQL skills
- Thorough understanding of concurrency and multi-threaded programming
- Experience with messaging, Web Services, SOA's and application server
middleware technologies
- Solid Unix skills and experience
- Strong problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Proven experience as tech lead and in mentoring Java
developers
*Skills Desired*
- Java web application GUI skills – JSP, Ajax / Flex OR
- Experience with data migrations / ETL tools like Informatica
