Functional Area Skills/Knowledge: A strong working knowledge of knowledge of systems (i.e. program design, flowcharting, coding, testing, debugging, etc) and communication networks. A strong working knowledge of how the pieces of a program fit together for the purpose of meeting the requirements of an application. A good working knowledge of the relationship of how the software being used relates to the hardware being used. A good working knowledge of Internet technologies (i.e. HTTP, LDAP, RADIUS, JAVA, XML) A good working knowledge of directory technologies including Novell eDirectory and MS Active Directory. A good working knowledge of Novell Netware v6.x, Linux, and Windows 2003 Server. Knowledge of portal and application server technologies (i.e. WebSphere, JBoss, Apache, Tomcat) Knowledge of firewall and proxy technologies. A strong understanding of how critical project completion is to client satisfaction. The ability to interact with external, as well as, internal clients for the purpose of data gathering and design initiation. Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent will be required. Related work experience can be substituted for educational requirement.
