*Help Desk Candidates* Location: *Baltimore, MD **(Need a candidate for a part time position of 5 hours per day for next 4 months) *Duration: *4 months* Rate: *$25 per hour* *Preferred Qualifications:* *ê At least 4 years of appropriate education, experience and/or training with networked centrally operated and supported computing systems.* *ê Ability to collaborate with the clients and/or other members of the team.* *ê Technical expert of multi-user, central operating systems (e.g. Unix, HPMPA, Windows NT)* *ê Understanding of network operations and topologies.* *ê Understanding of client work stations and ability to troubleshoot problems.* *ê Begin to translate academic and/or other previous IT experience into operational skills* *ê Support and implement campus hardware/software environment.* * ê Ability to program in at least one applicable systems programming language (e.g. C, Assembler) **for the assigned environment.* *ê Proficient of basic word processing, spreadsheet, and database computer software packages, such as Microsoft Suite or Microsoft Professional Suite* *ê Ability to assume independent assignments.* *ê Ability to address performance enhancement issues.* *ê Ability in planning and implementing hardware/software upgrades.* *ê Diagnosis of complex systems failures with far-reaching campus implications. May interact with vendor, campus leaders, etc. to resolve problems.* *ê Diagnose and resolve non-routine problems/issues.* *ê Provide assistance and/or mentoring to those with less knowledge of systems.* *ê Ability to prioritize, plan, and execute multiple time sensitive tasks.* *ê Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills* *ê Ability to travel.* I look forward to hear from you and hope that I can be a help in your job quest.
